For the third time this season, Tennessee State freshman guard Jaylen Jones was named OVC Freshman of the Week.
Although the Tigers tasted defeat in their matchup against the Sycamores of Indiana State, Jones led the team with 16 points, while also adding 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and a steal.
Jones is averaging 11.4 points per game, the third highest mark on the team, as well as 4.7 assists through the Tigers’ first 13 games and posted a season-high 18 points against Mercer on November 24.
Up next for Jones and the Tigers is the start of Ohio Valley Conference play Thursday night when they host UT Martin.
